The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan has launched a new mobile application called "Video Doctor"

The Center for Public Health and Reforms of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in partnership with Ezgil Medical Technologies and with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), has developed and launched a mobile application for conducting remote medical consultations. Produced as a national technology start-up, the application is designed to reduce the number of close contacts between health care workers and patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, and to provide citizens with timely and quality medical care. At the same time, the application has made it possible for patients suffering from chronic diseases and currently having difficulty accessing medical facilities not to be left out of medical care.

The new Video Doctor application is very convenient and easy for both doctors and patients to use. It is interesting that with the help of the application it is possible to integrate the medical card of each patient not only in polyclinics, but also in inpatient facilities. This allows you to monitor the progress of the disease and the healing process. In addition, it is possible to get acquainted with all the prescriptions written by the doctor to the patient. It should be noted that through this mobile application, the patient can contact the doctor at any time to schedule an appointment or clarify issues related to treatment. In addition, the patient can get information about his current condition, ie temperature, pulse, blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and then send it to the treating physician. Doctors, in turn, can monitor the condition of their patients after discharge from the hospital. Regardless of the location, any application user from anywhere in the world can easily share information about themselves with doctors of any clinics abroad. The Video Doctor mobile app also ensures that test results, X-ray results, vaccinations and other information are always at hand for patients. At the same time, doctors can access the application at any time, send each other a patient database, use another useful feature of the application, and discuss diagnoses and treatments online.

The mobile application, which has been successfully tested in Baku polyclinics, will be used by other public and private medical institutions to monitor and provide appropriate care to COVID-19 patients treated at home. Thus, the use of Video Doctor by individual physicians plays an important role in reducing the risk of infection during pandemic exposure, especially for health care workers and patients with high-risk chronic diseases. At the same time, the Video Doctor mobile application helps make medical services more accessible. This is especially true of access to quality health care by citizens living in remote villages and settlements of the country.

It should be noted that the already launched mobile application "Video Doctor" can be easily downloaded from Google Play (Play Market) and AppStore, respectively, for any Android and iOS devices.
